Lake Maggiore

Borromean Islands, a jewel of Lake Maggiore: Isola Bella, with its baroque palace and terraced gardens, Isola Madre, famous for its botanical park, and Isola dei Pescatori, a picturesque corner rich in traditions.
Stresa and Villa Pallavicino with a walk along the lakeside and visit the park with exotic animals and flower gardens.
Santa Caterina del Sasso, a monastery perched on the rock, with a spectacular view of the lake.
Arona and the Statue of San Carlo. The second tallest visitable statue in the world after the Statue of Liberty!

Markets and artisan workshops. In Stresa, Arona and Verbania you will find local products, ceramics and wooden objects.

Granite Quarries of Montorfano (Mergozzo)

Montorfano is famous for its white granite, also used for the Milan Cathedral. Some routes allow you to discover the ancient quarries and admire the view of the lake.
Candoglia Quarries (Milan Cathedral Marbles)

The famous pink Candoglia marble, used to build the Milan Cathedral, comes from here.
The site is not always open to the public, but guided tours are organized on special occasions or upon request.

Ornavasso Caves

An ancient quarry of pink marble, also used for the Milan Cathedral.
During the Christmas period, the quarry hosts the famous Santa Claus Village, with lights and shows inside the mountain.
